Business Strategy

SciTech's financial strategy is to fund the start-up company with enough capital to clinically prove two applications in the formulation platform: proof-of-principle trials with intravenous fenretinide and then follow-up clinical trials with a second intravenous small molecule.  SciTech will then: (1) license one or both of the initial applications to provide cash flow to continue to work on additional applications; or, (2) create subsidiaries which will raise additional capital to commercialize the application; or, (3) partner with a large pharmaceutical company to commercialize the application.

Key Investment Factors - Unique Selling Points
  • Fast Track Status. Due to previously completed (and extensive) clinical work with fenretinide and related retinoids, SciTech expects to file and receive Fast Track status with the FDA for pancreatic or ovarian cancer as well as skin cancer. As a result, the cost, risk and time to develop the drug formulation products to an exit event (mid-late Phase II clinical trial) will be substantially reduced as compared to the typical drug regulatory process.
  • Orphan Drug Status. Since at least three applications (i.e., pancreatic, ovarian and skin cancer) have fewer than 200,000 cases and no existing effective treatment, SciTech expects to file and be granted Orphan Drug status for its nanoparticulate formulation with fenretinide. As a result, SciTech will have early market exclusivity (7 years), lower introduction costs, and certain Federal tax incentives.  More importantly, the risk of product failure during the late-stage pivotal clinical studies is relatively low or virtually eliminated.
  • Multiple Exit Events. There are several potential exit events to sell or license individual drug products since SciTech’s delivery platform has the strong likelihood of being used for an extensive portfolio of anti-cancer products. Transaction values are tending to exceed $400,000,000.
Investment Opportunity

SciTech is seeking $6.5 million in financing in order to conduct Phase I/II FDA Clinical Trials and reach its first milestone event for the treatment of either pancreatic cancer or one other cancer indication while working with its topical drug company partner to complete a proof-of-concept study in the treatment of skin cancer.   Management believes that SciTech can grow to be a substantial company providing extra-ordinary returns to investors. The total market is vast and there are many individual market segments, which if fully exploited, are large enough to justify this initial investment individually.

Current Investors
  • Ferndale Laboratories Inc.: the development of topical Fenretinide
  • Campbell Univ. Pharmaceutical Science Institute: nanoparticle drug delivery manufacturing scale-up.

We are seeking additional partnerships to identify and develop specific anti-cancer applications.
